Audience: New and upskilling salespeople

Background: Designed to teach new and upcoming salespeople how to approach customers, this excerpt is from a series of 15 sales enablement lessons that were deployed nation-wide.

Result: After three months of use, managers reported a 13% higher prospect-to-sales transition as a direct result of these lessons.

Audience: Office managers and assistants

Background: Due to a slump in sales, this client re-worked their customer training as part of an overall learning refresh, in which I took part. 

Result: Shorter lessons written for a more general audience and an easier-to-use learning dashboard increased their national customer satisfaction levels by 23% and were responsible for a 17% boost in sales 90 days after deployment.

Client: State community college in an underserved area

Audience: Regional un- and under-employed high school graduates

Background: Part of a larger initiative to train and employ people in an area with few opportunities for job training, these courses teach students hands-on skills, verify their expertise, and help connect them with local employers who need their skills. 

Result: Within a year, local manufacturing employers report that new employees need "significantly less" onboarding; unemployment levels in three affected counties drop an average of 3%.

Client: Several panelists on the board of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA)

Audience: Healthcare professionals

Background: Designed for a national symposium on machine learning in healthcare, this case study was presented to over 1,000 attendees to demonstrate how machine learning can solve major challenges with healthcare data.

Result: Over 50 major and regional U.S. hospitals asked for more information after viewing the presentation on this case; a year later, 22 of them were working with data scientists to surface data-related insights about patient-related costs, process inefficiencies, and co-morbidities, to name a few examples.

Client: National seller of online real estate education

Audience: Adults studying to take their real estate license

Background: After studying client data on real estate exam pass rates and auditing their national content, several gaps emerged. Specifically,  the subject of water rights management U.S. law was covered in the real estate license exam but not in the client's educational offerings. This video was designed to fill that gap and align with the national portion of each state's real estate license exam. 

Result: We monitored the exam pass rates in the ten states where this content was sold that had the lowest scores on the national portion of the exam; after including this new content in sales offerings, these states' pass rates (for the national portion of the exam) rose by an average of 9%.

Client: Vendor of online education for K-12 educators and administrators

Audience: K-12 teachers, principals, and regional/state administrators

Background: Designed to showcase educators putting theoretically sound pedagogy into practice, this video focuses on the educators who brought experiential, student-led learning into the classroom. 

Result: The popularity of this video led to the research, filming, and production of a series of "experiential learning in practice" videos, which became one of this client's top ten most-watched video series in the year it was released.

Audience: University Freshman English students

Background: After extensive research into writing skills that new university students lacked, I created this online presentation, which was supplemented with hands-on, collaborative learning projects.

Result: Evaluating these students' first essays against those in twelve other Freshman English classes showed that my students correctly used complex sentence patterns almost twice as often as did the students in the other classes. Consequently, I was invited to share this presentation (and supplementary material) with other instructors and to present this case study at a national symposium.
